Dear Parents of Am Yisrael SJS 6th, 7th and 8th Graders,

1. Members of the JUF Ta’am Yisrael have arranged with me to come present about the annual trip to Israel that they lead to our 6th, 7th and 8th Graders and families on Sun Nov 10 from 10:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.  If you are able to come to our synagogue for 30 minutes on Sun Nov 10, you and your Am Yisrael SJS student(s) can learn more about the trip directly from the JUF Ta’am Yisrael Team.

2. JUF Ta’am Yisrael is an 8^th grade educational adventure that I staffed a few years ago in Israel designed to give teens a meaningful, intense, emotional, and focused taste of Israel and their heritage through a weeklong, “hands-on” experience. Over the course of the trip, the participants explore Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, go on archaeological digs, trek through the Negev desert and swim in the Dead Sea. JUF Ta’am Yisrael also visits historical sites and museums, meets Israelis, engages in social justice projects, and so much more! JUF Ta’am Yisrael strives to strengthen teen’s Jewish identities while helping them to build a deeper connection with Israel. Join us on either our winter trip from February 16^th-24^th 2020 or our spring trip from March 22^nd-30^th 2020.  Registration for 8th graders is open but sign up soon as spots are filling fast!

3. Please note that the JUF Ta’am Yisrael presentation will take place during the first 15 minutes of the time already scheduled for the 7th graders and their parents to have brunch and family education with Rabbi Newman Kamin.  7th Graders and their parents will still be able to have a full and wonderful brunch with the Rabbi.

4.
