Upcoming: School of Jewish Studies, Shabbat Family Programming and Ark Donations

Please be sure to check out the message that I sent to the entire Am Yisrael community regarding Shabbat Family Programming (SFP) taking place on Fri, Nov 4 @ 6 p.m.  It includes the necessary details for this upcoming Shabbat experience.  Promotion for our first SFP of this academic year will continue to be found throughout the upcoming week on my Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn feeds.  In addition, this week we have our regularly scheduled SJS sessions taking place, the Zayin Brunch and Family Education with Rabbi Newman Kamin and the Pardes Class will be going on a field trip with Cantor Simon (after he leads our congregational service and music classes) to view the movie, Denial, in lieu of their regular Sunday morning SJS class this week.

FINAL REMINDER: Donations to the Ark*: We have collected several items in the bin that will remain in our parking lot for the next week and a half or so.  We hope that everyone in our Am Yisrael community will contribute items and place them in this bin to help us feed and provide supplies to those within our greater local community who will benefit from this mitzvah of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world).

The Ark has listed items that may be helpful for us as we gather our donation items: 

General Mills and Kelloggs cereals (Cheerios, Rice Krispies, etc., Hunts or Barilla Tomato Sauce (meat-free), Quaker Unflavored Oatmeal, Canola Oil, Vegetable Oil, Green Giant Canned Peas, Applesauce, Dole/Del Monte Canned Peaches, Dole/Del Monte Canned Pineapple, Dole/Del Monte Canned Pears, Chicken of the Sea Canned Tuna, Starkist Canned Tuna, Canned or Jarred Gefilte Fish, Goya Vegetarian Canned Beans, Heinz/Bush’s Vegetarian Baked Beans, JIF/Skippy/Peter Pan Peanut Butter, Smuckers Jam, Unprocessed Brown Rice, Manischewitz Brand Anything, Streit’s Brand Anything, Rokeach Brand Anything, Bath Tissue, Facial Tissue, Paper Towels, Laundry Detergent, Dishwashing Detergent, Bar Soap, Anti-Perspirant, Full-Size Toothpaste, Full-Size Shampoo, Full-Size Conditioner, Baby Wipes, Children’s Diapers, Adult Diapers and Feminine Products.

*NOTE: Attached to the Limmud email is a picture of the way the donation bin looked as of Friday morning, 10/28.  There is still plenty of room to fill up on the top of the bin, which is being picked up within the upcoming week.
